be loved, things were created to be used, our world is in chaos because things
are being loved and people are being used. - Unknown
What is happening to our world? There are all sort of
different myths or even proven facts that lead to the conclusion of an ending
world. Many people are concerned with the Mayan calendar predictions, others
with sun storm analogies, and also depictions from the Holy Bible. There are
many more concerning theories, but could all of this chit-chat just be part of
the media’s game plan? Maybe the media is just doing a successful job on their part.
Media is playing their role of spreading rumors and creating discussion topics;
that’s their way of making money! Magazines, television shows, radios, news and
many more media companies are benefiting from these activities. In this case
for example, as the topic of “world ending on 2012” arises, all of the sudden,
a movie called “2012” was released and made $769.7 million, ranked 39th
all-time biggest movie in the worldwide box office. That’s just how business works!
Regardless of the myths, facts and media, it is obvious that
the world cannot maintain if there is too much hate and chaos. Speaking of
which, many terrible events has occurred lately:
The Shooting
at Eaton Centre
In a public mall, shopping with your friends or family peacefully,
who would have known that there would be bullets flying around? Shots were
fired on June 22, 2012 at the food court of Eaton Centre. The shooting has
caused five fatal injuries and has taken away two lives. The reason of the
shooting was personal and gang related but had to injure uninvolved civilians.
Such hatred cannot keep us together and can lead the world to an end.
Miami Zombie
Apocalypse?
Is an invasion of zombies about to occur? Should we all go
purchase guns and start praying? Gladly, no. The suspect was just on a dangerous
drug called “bath salt.” The drug has caused a cannibalistic attack on May 26,
2012, in which the suspect ate a homeless man’s face. These ignorant creators
and suppliers of the drug have taken wrongful actions to achieve their goals,
not caring about the harmful consequences that they created. Having such
selfish people in this planet will cause chaos to our world.
Realistically, I believe that we are doing a decent job of loving one another but, we sure can improve by a lot. Although media is doing a great job in terms of entertainment (ex: convincing that the world is ending), it should also attempt to educate or influence people to love each other and cherish our living moments! Like this, even if the world IS ending, we still would have no worries!
